Last year's me250 exam, with solution, is in ctools/resources/assignments/exam.

You should not expect this year's exam to be as long as last year's exam; however, the format will be similar (likely including an open-ended design problem and short-answer questions).

The exam will cover all lecture material including HW assignments.

Thursday's lecture will be a review for the exam.

The solutions to HW3 and HW4 will be posted this week.

mounting/assembly slides

contain guidelines for many things you'll do in the shop (drilling, waterjet, etc), fasteners, and examples of how to design effective couplings (motor-to-shaft, gear-to-shaft)

Some of this information will be reviewed in Thursday's lecture, and some has been in lecture already, but these slides contain more. It is all good info for your detailed designs, so please take a look.

the motor lab (HW4) will be due FRI NOV 12. (this is the correct date - not the dates that were given in my previous announcement and in lecture today)

- the current spreadsheet of assignment scores (including DR; not including HW1 regrade) is in ctools/resources/grades

- expect to hear from your GSI about the MS6 review meeting

- the motor lab (HW4) will be posted on Thursday, and a schedule will follow. It is due next Fri Nov/9.

- the GSIs have slightly expanded the slot starting zone, in an effort to accommodate strategies that wanted to use the lower row of holes. These will be marked on the arena, and the rules document has been updated.

as you begin detailed design, note the dimensions and other requirements (wiring, constraint) for the "control box" that will be mounted on your machine. the remainder of the specifications are DRAFT because we are investigating a better interface (handset) for driving your machines. However, this will not affect your machine designs.

bike lab

This will require a 1h lab session (1 per team), as well as the HW problems based on the lab.

Our goal in scheduling bike lab this Th/F is for you to start it as soon as possible after DR. However, if all of your team members are not available at the remaining posted times, put your team name at the bottom AND email your GSI along with your team's available times this Th/F and next M/Tu.
